BIOGRAPHY

Yvan Soucy is presently working with the Space Technologies Sector of the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), in Saint-Hubert, Quebec. He is currently Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Concordia University.

He received the B.Eng. degree in Civil Engineering, from École Polytechnique, in Montreal, in 1979. He also received the M.A.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University de Sherbrooke, in Quebec, in 1982. He completed his Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering at Carleton University, in Ontario, in 1998. From 1982 to 1989, he has been working with the Department of Communications of the Canadian Government. From 1989 to present, he has been working with the CSA. For both employers, he has been working as a research engineer and has been involved in R&D related to the space industry. His main areas of research are modal testing and structural dynamics. Since 1999, he has been working in the area of vibration testing and concentrating in the topic of Force Limited Vibration.
